Learn How to Groom Your Doodle Day Workshop

This interactive workshop teaches you coat care and maintenance for the most difficult of coat types: The Wool Mix!

Avoid the shave of shame and learn techniques that will keep your Doodle or Cockerpoo knot free and carefree between grooming sessions.

What you will learn:

Theory: Classroom Hour

The combination coat type make up and how the coat performs in comparison with other less demanding coat types.

How the ‘shedding free’ or ‘hypoallergenic’ description can be misleading.

The genetic makeup of the breeds in your dogs, their functions and behaviours. We will look at the KC grouping and jobs that kept them busy and how the coat helped the dogs in their service roles.

Equipment and its uses. We will talk you through equipment to use at home to keep on top of those unruly curls.

Practical: The remainder of the course will be spent working on your own dogs.

Nail care. We will look at the structure of the nail and how to trim the nail painlessly and without stress to your dog.

Prep work. We will look at how to clear the pads using trimmers to make those feet comfortable and less like a sponge!

Hygiene area trimming. We will look at how to clear those pesky hairs from the private areas and avoid those embarrassing cling on’s and armpit tangles.

Bathing: Learn the proper techniques which you can use at home.

We will look at suitable products, facials, shampoo’s, conditioners and de-matting protocol which is likely to blow your mind!

Drying: Learn the ‘Fluff Drying’ technique

Learn about the brushes, combs, tools and dryers you can use at home, never be in a tangle again!

Trimming – Learn how to shape paws the paws into tidy teddy bear feet.

Create super cute foot shaping which will keep those toes in check and the mud outside, not inside!

Face Tidy

The final step! Keep those little beady eyes visible for the entire gap in your professional grooming schedule by learning how to trim in your doodle or cockerpoo face.

Take home a fresh, tangle-free and able-to-see furry family member and a ton of knowledge to help you in the winter and summer months alike!

Workshops are ran on a Sunday, dates in January to be confirmed. your dog needs to have been professionally groomed within the last 8 weeks and be relatively tangle-free to benefit from this course. Please note that clipping and styling of the body is not included in this course. Your dog needs to be familiar with the grooming process and comfortable around other dogs.

You’re gonna have to face it….. You’re addicted to dogs!

Lucy is a brilliant groomer. I have taken my Cockapoo to numerous groomers in Hull but nobody has been able to master him like her. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be going back and will be recommending to all my family and friends. Thank you so much!

We’ve been to see Lucy three times now and I honestly couldn’t fault her. I’ve been so pleased with what she’s done every time I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her! She’s good value for money and it’s safe to say we won’t be going elsewhere. Thank you so much!
