Terms & Conditions

Health and Welfare:
When your dog is with us, its health and welfare is our main concern at all stages of the grooming process. Should we believe your dog is experiencing any fear or stress at any time, we will where possible employ alternative strategies to alleviate this. This may require extra time or sessions to overcome this problem.
During grooming it is possible pre-existing conditions are noticed, which you will be informed of, in order you can seek veterinary advice. Extremely rarely accidents can happen whilst grooming, or medical issues can arise. In the unlikely event of this happening you authorise us to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

Salon Exclusivity:
At Dogoholics we operate strictly by appointment. The quoted price exclude salon exclusivity but ensures a 121 grooming slot. This helps ensure a calm, low risk environment.

Exit and Entry Rules:
We have a multiple gate system at our salons. Please close the outside gates and check you have correctly secured the latches.
Leaving gates open can have catastrophic effects and if this is done by a customer consistently we will withdraw service with immediate effect. The internal gates in the salon should never be opened by customers under any circumstance.

Time Keeping:
Our appointment slots are timed to each individual dog, with a period of time to try and prevent any overlap. This ensures we are not rushing to complete your dog. The appointment time given, is the time we expect to admit you to the salon. If you are early for your appointment, we may not be in a position to grant you immediate access. Likewise if you are late we may have to refuse to groom on welfare grounds. This will incur a fee. Customers who are 30 minutes or more late will be deemed to be a ‘no show’ and charged the full appointment fee. If you leave your dog with us, and are late collecting, this will also incur a fee, as it will impact on the next customer. We ask that everyone shows the same courtesy afforded to you to others.

Contact and Contracts:
We cannot book appointments for people who do not own/use a mobile phone or email address. Due to the nature of our business we must be able to get in contact with you whilst your dog is in our care. We email our terms and conditions and this must be signed through our computer soft wear system before the groom takes place. Please ensure you have your mobile phone switched on, charged and the volume up whilst your dog is in our care.

Returning Early for Your Dog:
Returning to the salon before being notified that your dog is ready for collection will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Dogs naturally get excited to see their owners and this makes finishing the groom virtually impossible. We work with animals and sharp objects.
Please be aware the groom will be stopped, you will be given an unfinished dog and rebooked at a later date to finish the work. Both appointments will incur full groom charges.

Over running on appointment times:
We cannot give a definite answer when your dog will be ready for collection as we are working with live animals who do not have any concept of time. Any number of issues can arise when working with unpredictable animals. Please respect our work and be ready to collect your dog as soon as you are notified and not before.

Pricing:
All quoted prices assume:
The dogs coat is well maintained free from knots, matts and tangles.
The dog is well behaved, shows no aggression and groomed at our recommended periods. The coat is not a combination which is overly thick. Drying takes time, extra electricity and work which will be charged for accordingly.
The dog is not overweight or oversized for the breed.
Charges will be incurred for matted coats, those that are poorly maintained, or dogs with fleas. All charges are payable before you leave the salon with your pet. Payment can be made by card, cash or BACS (payment prior to appointment).

Cancellations and No Shows:
We appreciate that sometimes you may need to rearrange your dog’s appointment. As long as this is done with more than 48 hours’ notice there will be no charge. Any failure to not show or cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice (except in extreme circumstances) will result in the deposit being non-refundable.

Neglected / Matted coats:
We practice humanity before vanity. Should a dog be presented with a matted or neglected coat, if our opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Sec 5. – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering). This incurs extra charges due to time and extra wear and tear on equipment.
In instances where the above is necessary, it can lead to skin irritation and other conditions. On some breeds the coat may not grow back in the same manner. Dogoholics and its staff, will not be liable for any effects which may arise from this.

Aggressive and Poorly Socialised Dogs:
We reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or any members of staff at our salon. If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session will be stopped immediately and the full fee incurred.
We must be informed prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression. Your attention is drawn to the dangerous dog’s act which holds owners liable for bites and Injuries.
Whilst we are happy to work with nervous/timid dogs, these will incur extra charges due to the extra time and handling skills required. Separate dates are scheduled for these types of dogs. Currently the vets are quoting £500 for medium dog sedation and clip off. Please respect our lower pricing and the time and stress it takes to work with nervous and aggressive dogs. We will book out the salon for your dogs exclusivity and in all cases of working with fear aggressive dogs extra charges will be incurred. We quote around £150 for coat removal of a medium size fear aggressive dog. Two experienced staff members will carry out the process.
Please toilet your dog before attending their appointment to avoid any accidents.

Rebooking Appointments:
Your next appointment date will be provided when you collect your dog. If alterations need to be made please use, firstly, the online booking system. We discourage entering the salon to book or change appointments. If you need to speak to us regarding appointment slots please contact us via email/telephone/messenger or Whatsapp. Rebooking your next appointment on collection reduces admin and helps keep your dogs on a workable schedule.

Health Advice:
We are not veterinary practitioners. We cannot give advice on health matters on a pop-in basis to our salon. If you have a health concern and we do not have your dog in booked in for grooming please contact your vet.

We appreciate your understanding.

You’re gonna have to face it….. You’re addicted to dogs!

Lucy is a brilliant groomer. I have taken my Cockapoo to numerous groomers in Hull but nobody has been able to master him like her. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be going back and will be recommending to all my family and friends. Thank you so much!

Sally Farnill

My Bailey’s first lesson with Lucy was great. Lovely environment and Lucy really taught me and Bailey so much in just one lesson. Got our next lesson booked next week and can’t wait to learn more. Highly recommend for all you dogoholics.

We’ve been to see Lucy three times now and I honestly couldn’t fault her. I’ve been so pleased with what she’s done every time I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her! She’s good value for money and it’s safe to say we won’t be going elsewhere. Thank you so much!
